Machine learning is complex. Machine learning with Apache Spark isn't any simpler. The Apache SystemML project is intended to simplify machine learning on Spark clusters at scale.
My team was tasked with designing a website that lowered the barrier to entry for those new to data science while still maintaining relevant messaging and content for more experienced engineers.
We utilized design thinking methods to focus on both users personas to strike the right balance between the two. We created prototypes and presented them to new and experienced users to test and validate our concepts and designs.
Process
I was involved in much of the design process in concepting and guiding the information architecture. I provided technical guidance to my team to help raise their understanding of the domain. I also spent much of my time implementing the designs into final production website.
